Be yourself- does it work?

This article written by Adam Grant was by far one of the most enlightening articles about life I have read. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/05/opinion/sunday/unless-youre-oprah-be-yourself-is-terrible-advice.html?rref=collection%2Fcolumn%2Fadam-grant

For teenagers like me who are still in the process of self-exploration and self-discovery, this article is apt to help us realign our understanding of what is meant by the hackneyed saying "Being yourself" .

Unlike my previous post, there is a conclusion to this.
Being yourself does not bring you anywhere. Instead, be conscious, be sincere and keep to your words.

Strict parents are not always good, really?

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/31/opinion/sunday/how-to-raise-a-creative-child-step-one-back-off.html?_r=0

From this article, I see the stand of strict parents are harmful to nurturing a creative child. But without strict parents, children may go astray. Some children may also not be forced to study as a result and are let loose since childhood. I know a friend whose mother had limited the usage of television to 1 hour per day for her children, now all three of her children are in prestigious universities and my friend, in the top 10 percent of her cohort in school. Therefore may I pose this question: Would you rather raise a smart child or a creative child? Which is better?
